Meet Suzanne Vaillancourt
Suzanne Vaillancourt began practicing yoga in 1990. She became interested in yoga as a result of her challenges with asthma. She has studied the Buteko method (a breathing technique for asthma) in Australia which deepened her practice of Pranayama (yoga breath work). Suzanne is a world traveler and has spent sixteen years of travel and study in Asia. She has studied many different styles of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga and Bikram. She has studied Zen Buddhism, Shiatsu, Aiki Jujustu, Flower arrangement and Vipassana. In 2004, she completed her 500 hour teacher training in Hatha yoga with Irene Beer at Namaste International. She also began studying with Diane Long (long term student of Vanda Scaravelli). Diane’s playful teaching and deep hands on work brings wholeness to yoga. Suzanne’s approach to yoga brings harmony and happiness to the body, mind and spirit. As we practice using the gravity beneath our feet, the body above becomes light and free. It is this freedom of movement that brings joy to the body. Suzanne’s teachings and experience have been deeply rewarding for her and she is passionate about sharing all that she has learned with her students. She believes that each student has within them infinite possibilities for connection to their own bodies, minds and spirits. |
