Benefits of Yoga
Yoga is the practice of movement and breath. It restores the body and brings it back into balance. Yoga breathing opens the lungs, oxygenates the blood and flushes out toxins in the body. Yoga postures, when practiced regularly, increase flexibility and help prevent injuries. Yoga is beneficial for all ages as it helps keep the body healthy and pain free.
We are all beginners; there are no masters. “A student always aspires to be a master but a master knows he will always be a student.” Yoga is the union of the mind, body and spirit. Movement, breath and the awakening of the spine help us to connect to the greater intelligence of the body. Yoga is that connection. As a yoga pose begins to unfold something beautiful is created with infinite possibilities. Yoga is a pathway to connect to the beauty and intelligence of the body, mind and spirit.
Is Yoga For Me?
Yoga is for everyone. Students will learn to listen to their bodies and modify the poses to suit their own needs. Various modifications of the poses will be introduced in class. In order to avoid injury it is best that yoga is practiced without ambition, therefore assuring a positive experience.
FUNKY BUDDHA YOGA ~ Meditation in Motion
All yoga classes will incorporate standing poses, twists, inversions and back bends. Each Hatha level will focus on specific poses. All classes will include breath work and a relaxation period.
